Italian Language & Sardinian Cooking Holiday (15 Italian lessons) - Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy. 

This Italian and Sardinian Cooking course is divided in three language lessons in the morning and three evening classes of one hour; each cooking lesson will be followed by a dinner and students will eat what they have just prepared while drinking local wine.

This course is for non-professionals and it is a part of Italian language course and it will be held at the school, in one of the classrooms, with a chef and a teacher of Italian who will give information about the specifc words and verbs connected to the recipe and to the cooking. Each student will be given what he/she needs for the lesson and will prepare his/her own food.

First Cooking lesson: Fregola This is very similar to cous cous. It will be cooked in two different ways and tasted with Sardinian traditional white wine.

Second Cooking lesson: Sa Panada. This is a type of pie full of vegetables and meet which goes well with a Carignano wine or a Cannonau wine.

Third Cooking lesson: Pardule This is a typical Sardinian sweet, made of ricotta (fresh cheese) which goes well with wine for dessert.

Cooking classes will be held in the afternoons from 7pm, although exact time will be confirmed on arrival.
 - For courses starting the week of 12th of May, lessons will take place on the same 12th, then 14th and 16th May.

 - For courses starting the week of 23rd of June, lessons will take place on the same 23rd, then 25th and 27th of June.

 - For courses starting the week of 21st of July, lessons will take place on the same 21st, then 23rd and 25th of July.

 - For courses starting the week of 8th of September lessons will take place on the same 8th, then 10th and 12th of September.

The School 
The school offers a friendly and professional environment in which to study Italian and learn about Sardinia. All teachers are highly qualified, graduated and experienced in teaching Italian to foreigners, and their teaching method combines written and oral communication with aspects of Italian culture through the use of books, videos, cassettes and newspapers. Classes are kept to a maximum of ten students in order to encourage interaction between students and individual attention from the teacher. Outside class students can then enjoy exploring and discovering Cagliari and the island of Sardinia both through the school and in their own time.

The school organises optional activities for students after class. Typical activities during the week include a film afternoon, a night tour of Cagliari by bike and dinner in a local pizzeria, while at the weekends one of the options includes a full-day jeep trip to one of Sardinia's ancient civilisations, the necropolis of Pranu Mutteddu at Goni, and a typical Sardinian lunch. There is also a bike tour giving students the chance to experience Sardinia's history, art and nature at the same time, and other activities such as horse riding, canoeing and surfing that make the most of the island's wonderful landscape.

Important Information - From November to March the school is not able to guarantee group lessons, then private lessons are offered instead.

Best Time to Go - Sardinia has a very warm and sunny climate, the southern part being the hottest. Average temperatures in Sardinia: June to September 28°C, September to November 20°C, December to March 15°C, April to June 23°C. From May to October the average rainfall is 25 mm. Thunderstorms average from June to September about 1.5 days per month. From April to June and from September to October, they average three days per month.
