Windsurfing Holiday in Vassiliki, Lefkas, Greece with Neilson.  As the first windsurf centre in Vassiliki, we have indisputably, the best spot on the bay. The Neilson centre is based a mile away from Vassiliki village at the windward end of the bay, giving the longest sailing hours, clean winds and flat water, whilst the beach's gently shelving, sandy bottom provides the best launching conditions.

If you want to learn to windsurf then don't let Vassiliki's reputation put you off, as the morning breeze is always gentle. However, when 'Eric', Vassiliki's famous thermal wind, kicks in for the afternoon, experts can choose from the impressive array of high-performance kit.

Mornings are ideal for beginners to get out on the water, whilst intermediates and experts can enjoy light wind practice or theory/video sessions. By mid afternoon most days, the wind shift arrives and it all starts to happen!

Expert windsurfers leap onto short boards to make the most of dream conditions. If you still have the energy, we offer late safety cover most evenings when the wind blows. With improvements to modern equipment design, improver windsurfers with a go-for-it attitude can often make fast progress.

If you want to learn to windsurf then don't let Vassiliki's reputation put you off, as the morning breeze is always gentle.  Inclusive Tuition and Equipment Mornings are set aside for beginners and theory/video sessions for the experts. Afternoon waterbased tuition caters for all levels and covers everything from classic manoeuvres like the carve gybe to the latest tricks and tuition.

The range and standard of kit available in 'Vass' is unbeatable with a full range of boards and rigs to try. The list shown below reflects the range of equipment you can expect to find on the racks, although please bear in mind alteration may occur, due to breakage, repair or other factors.

The picturesque harbour becomes the social focus by night with the harbour lights attracting the island’s visitors, many of whom arrive by yacht. The surrounding busy bars and tavernas offer a choice of Greek as well as European menus and as 'Vass' is so popular with windsurfers from across Europe, there is always a party going on somewhere!

About Neilson
We've been around for around 25 years. We started as two separate companies, one providing top-end ski holidays and the other taking people sailing in Greece. For around two decades we became better and better at putting together holidays, one company doing fun things in the snow, the other having adventures in the Med. Then, in 1999, Thomas Cook, who owned both companies, decided that it would make sense for us to join together. That was when the famous orange logo appeared, and Neilson as we know it came into existence.
