Description
2 Week Yacht Sailing Flotilla Holiday - Peloponnese, Greece with Neilson. The Peloponnese offers great sailing with an unspoilt stunning coastline to explore. The winds are very reliable with lighter breezes in the morning and steady force 3’s and 4’s in the afternoon. Our sailing area based around Porto Heli is a great base from which to explore the bustling tourist islands of Spetses and Hydra to the east and south east.

Good For:
- Intermediate or expert sailors
- More challenging winds than the Ionian
- Winds F2-4, north west to south east
- Vast sailing area shrouded in history
- Couples, groups and families.
- Larger sailing passages to ancient classical sites.
Peloponnese 2 week Flotilla
This two week flotilla allows for more free sailing and a thorough exploration of this classic sailing area, following a route designed to make the most of the sailing, taking in some longer passages. The following is an example route, designed to give you a taster of the places you may visit whilst on flotilla. Please note routes may change depending on the size of the flotilla, time of year and weather conditions.
Saturday - Porto Heli - Arrival Day
Our base in Porto Heli is ideally situated to enjoy the best that the Peloponnese has to offer.
Sunday - Plaka
Plaka is a small, pretty harbour lying at the head of a fertile valley, with a long pebble beach and a dramatic backdrop of high mountains.
Monday - Ieraka
Is a charming old hamlet located in a narrow bay. Typical picture postcard Greek whitewashed houses trimmed with cobalt blue and the odd taverna form a single line along the quayside.
Tuesday - Monemvasia
The historical port of Monemvasia is built on steep slopes; the beautiful medieval town with cobbled streets offers many excellent restaurants. A climb up a steep cliff path leads to the old town on top of the peninsula. The only surviving building on the top slopes is the precariously perched Byzantine church of Aghia Sofia.
Wednesday - Freesail
Thursday - Kiparissi
The bay is simply majestic. Slopes rise precipitously to razor sharp spines, from clear deep water. We moor along the quay in Chapel Cove, where there is fantastic snorkelling nearby.
Friday - Freesail
Saturday - Astros
Tucked underneath the mammoth mainland mountains is the bustling fishing village of Astros with a good harbour and sandy beach.
Sunday - Navplion
Once the first capital of modern Greece, Navplion is a maze of intriguing narrow streets and squares, with buildings dating from the Venetian, Turkish and neo-classical era. The impressive 13th century Venetian citadel overlooks the harbour and town with bars and a lovely marble square.
Monday - Vivari
The fjord-like inlet to Vivari is magnificent with sheer cliffs rising from the clear blue sea. The entrance boasts a Venetian mini-fort, which fell just a year after its construction in 1714.
Tuesday - Freesail
Wednesday - Khaladi
Moor up in the bay of this small fishing town, look out for the turtles which are often spotted here and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
Thursday - Spetses
A beautiful wooded island, with an attractive main town faturing broad squares and avenues
Friday - Porto Heli
Enjoy your final day of sailing as you make your way back towards Porto Heli.
Saturday - Departure Day
Flotilla Experience Levels
Twp people aboard each yacht aged 18 years or over must have had several day's active experience in charge of a yacht. If this level of experience cannot be satisfied a Stay and Sail holiday, coupled with an Introduction to Yachting or Brush Up training course should be completed.
About Neilson
We've been around for around 25 years. We started as two separate companies, one providing top-end ski holidays and the other taking people sailing in Greece. For around two decades we became better and better at putting together holidays, one company doing fun things in the snow, the other having adventures in the Med. Then, in 1999, Thomas Cook, who owned both companies, decided that it would make sense for us to join together. That was when the famous orange logo appeared, and Neilson as we know it came into existence.
