1 Week Yacht Sailing Flotilla Holiday from Mourtos, Sivota in the Northern Ionian Sea, Greece with Neilson.  The Ionian is one of the Mediterranean's most popular yachting destinations with gentle breezes and a scattering of picturesque islands and sheltered harbours offering the perfect introduction to sailing.

The Northern Ionian offers more adventurous sailing with longer passages, less crowded waters and steady breezes.

Rising out of the clear, turquoise sea, midway between Greece and Italy, these fertile islands are a rich colourful tapestry of vineyards, olive groves and fruit orchards, setting them apart from the barren rocky terrain of other Greek islands.

One week Flotilla in Northern Ionian
Please note that on the 4th May the Northern Ionian Flotilla will follow a different route to that depicted below. The yachts will depart from Nidri in the southern Ionian and sail via Lefkas, Preveza and Parga towards Mourtos.

Sunday - Sivota, Mourtos
Starting from a harbour close to our Beachplus club The Retreat, there are a number of beautiful bays and anchorages along the coastline.

Monday - Petriti
A small hamlet on the east coast of Corfu set in an attractive bay with great snorkelling and swimming in the crystal clear water.

Tuesday - Platarias
A relatively quiet bay and harbour, with a good sandy beach and a few tavernas and cafés.

Wednesday - Lakka
On the island of Paxos, Lakka is a pretty town, sheltered by impressive mountains.

Thursday - Gaios
Gaios on Paxos is a beautiful town built around one of the best natural harbours in the northern Ionian, with a wide variety of bars, tavernas and shops.

Friday - Parga
Steeped in history, Parga’s bustling harbour is lined with restaurants and bars, while behind is a labyrinth of narrow cobbled alleys lined with traditional red tiled houses, leading to a Venetian fortress.

Saturday - Sivota, Mourtos
Return to the Neilson base in Mourtos, via a series of tiny islands and refreshing swimming and lunch stops.

Sunday - Departure Day
You are free to enjoy the facilities of The Retreat hotel before your departure.

Marina and Mooring Fees
You will very rarely need to pay mooring fees in Greece, but if you do it is usually only a few Euros per night.

About Neilson
We've been around for around 25 years. We started as two separate companies, one providing top-end ski holidays and the other taking people sailing in Greece. For around two decades we became better and better at putting together holidays, one company doing fun things in the snow, the other having adventures in the Med. Then, in 1999, Thomas Cook, who owned both companies, decided that it would make sense for us to join together. That was when the famous orange logo appeared, and Neilson as we know it came into existence.
