2 Day Survival Course with Extreme Element - East Sussex.  Spend one night in the wilderness.  

Survival is the need to survive and your ability to adapt and overcome an immediate situation. Wilderness survival skills form the basics of bushcraft, these skills usually revolve around finding shelter, water and food, and then on to finding a way back to safety.

This is a two day course aimed at learning the basics of survival in a temperate climate. Over the two days you will build a shelter which you will spend the night in, make fires to cook from and learn how to gather and prepare your food. The course also covers basic fungi, plant and trees uses as well as basic navigation by day and night.

This is a very practical course and is designed to dispel any myths about survival and teach realistic and useful skills. It is also a lot of fun!

Experience Content
This is an all round course for those with and interest in survival or those who regularly head off into the hills or to the crags!

During the course we you will cover the following topics in detail:
• Survival psychology
• Shelter building
• Fire lighting
• Water collection & purification
• Tree, plant & fungi uses
• Emergency equipment
• Navigation techniques (day & night)
• Injured party carrying techniques
• Contacting help & being rescued

You will be sleeping in the shelters you have made.

What you Need to Know

Duration
This a two day course.

What to Wear / Equipment
All tools and equipment for the course are supplied by the centre. You should take comfortable clothing and footwear. Due to the nature of the locations, you must have extra warm clothes and waterproofs. You will also need a sleeping bag, ground mat, torch, water bottle, notepad and pen / pencil. A full kit list will be supplied prior to the course.  All food is provided; please bring a plate, mug and cutlery. Transport Lift sharing can be arranged, or we will meet at the venue.

East Grinstead, East Sussex

Group Size / Spectators
Group size will be between four and twelve people.

Weather
Only very extreme weather conditions will cause the course to be cancelled.

Availability
Available on selected dates from March to October.

Restrictions
 - Minimum age is 18.
 - You should have a reasonable level of fitness.
