There are excellent beginner slopes near the resort and on the glacier - a great place to learn & enjoy the superb mountain views. Intermediates have variety while experts should hire a guide & test their ability on the off piste runs of legendary ‘La Grave’ when the conditions are right. A 6 day pass also covers a days skiing in Serre Chevalier or Alpe d’Huez.
The resort of Les Deux Alpes is rated one of our top ten for families with many fantastic family orientated activities. Although not the most picturesque of villages, the choice of accommodation is extensive and the selection of shops, restaurants, bars and clubs will not leave you wanting.

Beginners
There are many runs for beginners close to the village, two of which are free of charge, and the gentle skiing on the face of the glacier at 3568m is also ideal for first-timers.
Intermediates
There is unlimited scope for practice and improvement on the mountains of Les Deux Alpes. On the eastern side of the resort, there is a satisfying run down to the hamlet of Bons and, on the western side, a similar intermediate standard run leads to Mont de Lans. There is high-altitude cruising up top and steep, challenging descents down to the village.
Advanced
The steep black runs, moguls and powder will be enough to satisfy any expert. The short run from the Tête Moute to the village is well worth a try – it descends rather abruptly for 1220m! In addition, the off-piste possibilities are unbelievable. A favourite trek involves a hike to the top of the glacier followed by a long and magnificent excursion over to La Grave (only to be undertaken with a qualified guide and when conditions permit).
Snowboarding
The area is well known for its extensive off-piste terrain and good snow record. Most of the slopes are above the tree-line, enabling boarders to cruise on the wide-open, uncluttered pistes. The well-linked lift system comprises chairs, gondolas and cable cars, so first-time riders will have no problem getting back up the hill. For the more advanced, there is a snowboard park at La Toura (2600m), a half-pipe and a boarder-cross. The terrain parks attract some top competitions during the season.

About Neilson
We've been around for around 25 years. We started as two separate companies, one providing top-end ski holidays and the other taking people sailing in Greece. For around two decades we became better and better at putting together holidays, one company doing fun things in the snow, the other having adventures in the Med. Then, in 1999, Thomas Cook, who owned both companies, decided that it would make sense for us to join together. That was when the famous orange logo appeared, and Neilson as we know it came into existence.
