It just has to be Ceroc – a rich mix of Salsa and Jive that is fantastic to watch and is even better to do. It has all the spirit and energy of rock and roll… but is easy to do, whatever your fitness level!

Ceroc, in case you’re wondering, is short for “C'est le Roc”, the name given to the tight, chic style of jive for which the French are renowned. It came to England in the 1980s via James Cronin (grandson of famous author AJ Cronin) who picked up the French-style rock and roll dance in Normandy before introducing it to the British social scene – and it has just taken off from there.

Since then Ceroc has developed its own unique style, which is easy to learn and great fun, explaining why it is the fastest growing dance phenomenon in the country. As more and more people have taken up the dance, more elements have been added – and it’s possible to spot moves taken from rock and roll, lindyhop and jitterbug.

Ceroc DJs play music ranging from 40s swing through to current chart hits – it can be danced to any music with a regular beat. And there really isn’t a more sociable dance around – as you’ll find out if you join us over two sessions on this break.Just bring your dancing feet, cool clothing and suitable footwear – we’ll do the rest. Our experts will soon have you dancing the Ceroc as if you’ve been doing it for years!
