Zambia Discovery Africa Safari Holiday with Kuoni.  An awe-inspiring journey through one of Africa’s least discovered countries. The lodges and their wonderful settings provide some of the many highlights and a sense of real Africa is enjoyed with great service and rewarding game viewing.

Zambia offers a multitude of exploration, Luangwa National Park, Lower Zambezi and Victoria Falls at Livingstone. Game viewing by day and night or on foot make for excellent safaris.

Your itinerary

DAY 1
British Airways overnight flight from Heathrow to Lusaka.

DAY 2
On arrival fly by Proflight to the South Luangwa National Park and Nkwali Camp for three nights. Enjoy an afternoon game drive or walk, alternatively relax and enjoy the camp’s atmosphere, stunning riverside location and swimming pool.

DAY 3
Enjoy bush walks and morning and afternoon game drives with a chance also to see game by night. This area of Luangwa is fabulous for large herds of buffalo, elephants, leopards and giraffe amongst others. The combination of river valleys and forests makes it particularly beautiful also.

DAY 5
Fly by Proflight light aircraft to the Lower Zambezi National Park for two nights at Chongwe River Camp. Located on the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers the camp has just eight comfortable safari tents with en suite bathroom and three luxury suites. The bar and dining area is the focal point and looks out onto the river frequented by animals, which regularly come to drink and feed.

DAY 6
Declared a National Park as recently as 1983 the Lower Zambezi remains unspoilt by tourism and due to its infancy affords high levels of protection from the government. There are many activities available at Chongwe, such as canoeing, river cruises, fishing and game drives, which makes this a wonderfully varied type of safari.

DAY 7
Fly by Proflight light aircraft to Lusaka and onwards to Livingstone for two nights at the Zambezi Sun in a Standard room (p200), located on the banks of the Zambezi River in view of the rising plumes of mist from Victoria Falls - a beautiful spot to relax after your safari. For the energetic there are many activities on offer in the area – we especially recommend the helicopter flight over the falls.

DAY 9
Fly with British Airways via Johannesburg to Heathrow arriving the next day.

MEAL PLAN
Prices include breakfast, lunch and dinner from Day 2 to Day 6; breakfast on Day 7 and Day 8; Breakfast in Cape Town.

ACCOMMODATION
Is in three and four star lodges, tented camps and hotels. Alternatives to those shown may be used on occasion due to local conditions or availability.

TRAVEL TIPS
Luggage allowance is 12kgs in soft bags on the light aircraft flights used on this safari. Comfortable earthy-coloured clothing, hat, suncream, binoculars and a camera are all essential, plus insect repellent.

GRATUITIES
We recommend tipping guides and camp staff at the end of each stay.

NB
This tour has a minimum age of 12 years. Zambezi Sun has minimum stay restrictions applicable.
