Botswana game reserves are some of the most breathtaking in Africa. Camp under the stars, take a journey up river by boat and marvel at the awe inspiring Victoria Falls. Our tours include a stay in the Okavango Delta, a river that never reaches the sea and supports an abundance of wildlife. There are plenty of photo opportunities, you may capture, herds of migrating zebra, elephants or big cats on film depending on the time of year.

Your itinerary
DAY 1
South African Airways overnight flight from Heathrow to Johannesburg.

DAY 2
On arrival connect with your Air Botswana flight to Maun where you will be met and assisted onto your light aircraft (Safari Air or similar) to Xugana Island Lodge, situated in a permanent water area of the Okavango Delta, allowing water based safari activities such as mokoro canoes and motor boats, as well as guided walking on the island. Camp facilities include an open-air boma and dining area, lounge, bar and swimming pool. All eight raised thatched rooms are peacefully located on the shaded fringe of the island with views of the lagoon and come with en suite bathrooms with walk in shower, ceiling fans and private deck. Enjoy two nights here seeking out the resident big game, fishing or simply relaxing in this oasis of tranquillity.

DAY 4
Today you get to experience the full majesty of the Okavango from the air as you transfer by light aircraft northeast to Savute, known for its huge concentrations of elephants and large lion prides. This often dry, desert like region provides a fascinating contrast to the lushness of the Delta and animals often gather in large numbers around the scattered waterholes that dot the landscape. Spend two nights at Savute Safari Lodge, set on the banks of the channel and with an atmospheric dining deck/fire area from which you can watch the elephants and lions jostle for drinking rights. The main building features an indoor dining room, lounge, bar and upstairs viewing deck, while the nearby pool offers welcome refreshment after your game drives. Game viewing here is primarily by 4x4 open vehicle, and wildlife includes cheetah, leopard, lion, hyena and jackal.

DAY 6
Fly back to Maun for your return Air Botswana flight to Johannesburg, then onto Heathrow flying overnight with South African Airways.

MEAL PLAN
Full breakfast, lunch and dinner on safari plus local soft and alcoholic drinks are included; breakfast and dinner in Seychelles.

ACCOMMODATION
Three and a half and four star lodges are used. Please note the itinerary may operate in a different order or alternative accommodation used according to local conditions and availability. All Park Fees and Laundry are also included.

TRAVEL TIPS
Pack a mixture of warm and light clothing, sun cream, hat, camera, binoculars and insect repellent. Maximum luggage allowance of 12kgs in soft bags applies – extra luggage can be left in Johannesburg airport.
