The Lindy Hop will transport you back to the 1930s to when the swing bands were in their prime, belting out classic music that had style, sophistication – and romance. You can relive the days of the Lindy Hop and music of the big bands on a unique Experience Break with our expert dance tutor Clare Brewer.

She is a highly experienced teacher of what has moved from being a great dance from the past to become one of the fastest growing dance fashions around. During a series of workshops over three half days, you'll learn the basic moves and then perform a finale with your group – going at your pace.

“People love to do the Lindy Hop because it’s such great fun,” says Clare. “It might look hugely energetic when you see the serious people doing all the aerial stuff, but you only need a modest level of fitness and mobility.”

If you really want to “Get in the Mood”, why not bring along some vintage clothing. “It’s surprising how different people feel when they put on clothes that would have gone with the period,” says Clare. “Hats, braces and rolled up sleeves for the men, shoulder pads and stockings for the ladies.

“You could even come as a Land Army girl – after all, many original Lindy Hop dancers dressed like that!”
